The Milton Menace had a rough weekend.
On Friday, September 27th, the Menace welcomed the King Rebellion, who managed to score first while on the penalty kill. King led 1-0 after on period.
Things started to fall apart for Milton in the second period. The Rebellion scored two quick goals in the first two minutes. 16-year-old Ryder Cali managed to get one back. His 7th of the season was assisted by Luke Hampel and Marcus Tryfon. King would manage to score three more goals before the frame came to an end. It was 6-1 Rebellion after 40 minutes of play.
Lucas Tye would score his 4th of the season in the third period. Tristan Tremble and Marco Costante got the assist. Milton would give up one more goal before it was all said and done. King beat Milton 7-2.
Ethan Kowatsch started the game for Milton. He gave up four goals in 30 minutes of action. Austin McKillop came in relief, giving up another three goals.
A couple days later, the Milton Menace hosted the Burlington Cougars on Sunday, September 29th.
The Menace opened the scoring with Andrew Giljanovic getting his 2nd of the season just three minutes into the game. The Cougars were able to tie the game before Giljanovic notched his 3rd of the year, assisted by Marco Costante. Burlington tied things up again, and it was 2-2 heading into the first intermission.
In the second period, the Cougars jumped out to a two goal lead. Costante found the back of the net himself, with his 1st of the year being assisted by Gabriel Ciarallo and Kyle Burton. It was 4-3 Burlington after 40 minutes of play.
Burlington would add some insurance late in the third, which they needed as Nathan Catalano would score his 3rd of the year for Milton, with Cole Semeniuk getting the apple. That was all for Milton, as Burlington would win 5-4.
Austin McKillop gave up five goals on 27 shots, giving him an .814% save percentage.
The Milton Menace now have a handful of days to get things back on track. The Buffalo Jr. Sabres will be at the Milton Memorial Arena on Friday, October 4th. Puck drop will be at 7:30 p.m.
