Get ready for a night of timeless classics as Classic Troubadours Live: The Songs of James, Joni, Jackson & Carole takes the stage at the FirstOntario Arts Centre on October 2nd.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Jacob Moon leads a talented ensemble of musicians in a tribute to four of the greatest singer-songwriters of our time: James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and Carole King.
Moon, who has spent years crafting his own brand of folk-rock music, shared his excitement about the upcoming show. “This project is really about celebrating the incredible songwriting and storytelling that these artists brought to the world,” he explained. “Their music shaped generations, and we’re honoured to bring these songs back to life for an audience that loves them as much as we do.”
The setlist, which includes iconic hits like Fire and Rain, Running on Empty, Big Yellow Taxi, and You’ve Got a Friend, was carefully curated by Moon and the band. “We wanted to choose songs that not only resonate with people emotionally but also showcase the diversity of each artist’s catalog,” said Moon. “It’s a delicate balance between the well-loved classics and some deeper cuts that fans will recognize and appreciate.”
Expect an evening filled with lush harmonies, soaring vocals, and intricate arrangements, all delivered by a dynamic lineup of musicians. “Our goal is to transport the audience back to the heyday of these artists’ careers,” Moon added. “But more than that, we want people to feel the soul of these songs—to connect with the stories and emotions behind the music.”
The performance is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Mattamy Theatre, with tickets priced at $55, taxes and fees included. It promises to be an unforgettable night for fans of these legendary troubadours. Don’t miss your chance to relive the magic.
