Police have located human remains in Kawartha Lakes while searching for a woman who they believe was kidnapped in Markham last week (jul25).
York Regional Police indicate human remains were discovered in the Village of Kirkfield Monday (jul29) afternoon.
Investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen a white Ford van, seen in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Steelcase Road at the time of Ying Zhang’s disappearance.
A 26 year old East Gwillimbury man was arrested on Saturday (jul27).
He’s facing charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement and aggravated assault.
Investigators say they believe the suspect may have traveled to Kirkfield on the afternoon of July 25 in a white Ford van with Ontario plates …which is what prompted a search in that area.
Police are waiting on positive identification of the remains from the Office of the Chief Coroner.
