Milton’s Crawford Lake Conservation Area is getting a futuristic new feature!
This comes after the federal government announced over $1.1 million in federal support for six projects in Halton, Hamilton and surrounding areas. Conservation Halton was among the list of recipients, and they plan to install a holographic immersive experience at their Visitor Centre. With $180,000 in support from the federal government, this exhibit will open Fall 2025. It’s expected to attract over 10,000 tourists annually from students to nature enthusiasts to the region.
Milton Member of Parliament (MP) and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and to the Minister of Sport and Physical Activity, Adam van Koeverden, was at Crawford Lake on Wednesday, July 3rd. He says his life experience, and the people around him, have led him to fighting for the environment during his career as a politician.
MP van Koeverden also highlighted how an increase in tourists leads to spillover benefits into communities, creating jobs and stimulating local economies, which helped lead to this investment.
Conservation Halton also received a $200,000 investment to install an inflatable waterpark at the Kelso Conservation Area Park. This attraction is expected to draw over 8,500 annual visitors. It launched just before Canada Day.
