The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is once again teaming up with the Town of Oakville Municipal Enforcement Services for an annual project.
As summer kicks off, an increasing number of Oakville residents are heading to town parks, school grounds and trail systems. Both the HRPS and Oakville Municipal Enforcement Services have received an increased level of complaints and calls for service related to issues in these public spaces as a result.
Police on Park Patrol (P.O.P.P) will help ensure everyone can enjoy these spaces safely with increased patrols at a number of municipal parks, school properties and trails across Oakville. The project will include enforcement of town by-laws as well as Provincial and Criminal statutes, including:
- Mischief
- Loitering
- Underage drinking/Drug Use
- Disturbances
- Noise complaints
This project will run through the summer beginning Friday, June 28th, and ending Sunday, September 1st.
Members of the community can continue to call the Halton Regional Police Service non-emergency line 905-825-4777 to report nuisance-related concerns.
