Everything you need to know ahead of the Milton by-election
Premier Doug Ford and Queen’s Park have celebrated the win for the Progressive Conservatives.
In a release, Premier Ford took aim at the Ontario Liberal Party leader, Bonnie Crombie.
“These byelection victories show that voters across Ontario know Bonnie Crombie will make their lives more expensive,” says Ford. “While Bonnie Crombie is focused on finding new ways to tax Ontario families by increasing the gas tax and bringing back the license plate sticker fee, our government will never stop working to keep costs down. I want to congratulate Zee and Steve and I can’t wait to welcome them to our team at Queen’s Park.”
Elections Ontario has the total voter count at 98,785, which is roughly 27.72% of registered voters.
The Ontario PCs add that they have “the most ambitious capital plan in Canadian history” worth over $185 billion over the next 10 years. That includes Highway 413 and the Bradford Bypass, as well as expanded GO train service.
