Local youth soccer players will be heading overseas next week to take part in a top-level European training camp.
The Milton Magic Boys U16 (2008) Team are going to Rome, Italy. From March 11th to the 23rd, the team, accompanied by some guest players, will immerse themselves in European football during a training camp. They will have the unique opportunity to train alongside local Serie A academies under the guidance of top-level UEFA Pro licensed coaches. As part of the trip, the team will also have the opportunity to experience a Serie A match in the Rome area.
Led by Head Coach Gergin Naoumov, the boys have been tirelessly preparing for this experience. In a release, the club extended their gratitude to the community for supporting the team through various fundraising efforts, including purchasing Little Caesars pizza kits, attending the fundraising event at The Eighth Note, and buying 50/50 tickets.
“In line with our club’s vision to ‘create lifelong soccer experiences’, the journey of our U16 Boys Team to Italy for a training camp epitomizes this ethos,” says Director of Soccer Operations David Benning.
“These are the types of experiences that we look forward to creating for players,” adds Assistant Coach Ted Tomlin. “It’s about developing future leaders and creating experiences through the beautiful game of soccer.”
