Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement ahead of the expected storm on Tuesday, January 9th.
Milton and Halton Hills residents should plan for 5-10cm of snow that will turn into rain. The statement says this will likely affect the roads:
“Snow associated with a storm system is expected to move into portions of southern Ontario on Tuesday. The snow may be heavy at times before changing to rain later in the day.
“Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible, although amounts may be lower closer to Lake Huron where snow may change to rain sooner.
“Difficult travel conditions will be likely once the snow arrives. At this point, it appears that the heaviest snow will arrive after the morning commute, but that the afternoon commute could be significantly impacted.
“Winter weather travel advisories may be issued for some regions as this event draws nearer.”
