The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is still looking for Matthew Flannigan.
Their investigation continued over the last few months. As a result, Flannigan is also wanted for the following additional offences:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts)
- Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
If seen, do not approach Flannigan. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
The HRPS is offering a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of Matthew Flannigan.

A Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officer has been left with serious, non-life-threatening injuries following a fight with a now wanted man.
In the early hours of Saturday, July 22nd, an HRPS officer conducted a traffic stop on Plains Road East in the City of Burlington. During the investigation, the officer formed grounds to arrest 31-year-old Matthew Flannigan under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. A violent struggle with Flannigan ensued, leaving the officer with the injuries.
Flannigan is described by the HRPS as:
- male
- white
- 5’9” tall
- brown braided hair
- operating a blue 2021 Honda CRV with Ontario marker CVFS 405
Flannigan fled the area at a high rate of speed. At this time, his whereabouts are unknown.
The officer was transported to hospital and has since been released.
A Warrant 1st Instance has been issued for Flannigan on charges of Possession Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Assault Peace Officer Causing Bodily Harm, Flight from Peace Officer & Dangerous Operation.
