Thanksgiving is right around the corner and the Alliston Food Bank is working hard to make sure everyone has something on their plate this year.
Jaime Karsh is the Operations Manager of the Food Bank, she says the rising costs of just about everything is leaving a large portion of the population vulnerable to food insecurity.
The Food Bank, which is always accepting donations, is hosting a food drive this week.
She says the number of people using the services of the food bank has jumped significantly from 297 households in a very short time.

Karsch say volunteers will be stationed outside the Alliston Zehr’s and Fresh Co. this Friday (oct6, 9am-7pm) and Saturday (oct7, 9am-5pm).
They hope to collect 15,000 pounds of food…They will continue collecting donations until the 15th.
Karsh says if you don’t have any food to drop off, they also accept cash and online donations.
