The Milton Menace have had a hard time putting away the Leamington Flyers so far this season.
After a 4-4 tie last week, the Menace and Flyers faced off at the 2023 OJHL Governors Showcase in Buffalo, New York. The game took a bit to get into it, with the Flyers scoring first 15:27 into the first period. Milton would tie the game up with James Jagodic scoring his fourth of the season with 19 seconds left in the frame. It was assisted by Nicholas Wereha. The period closed with the game tied 1-1.
Once again, the second period started off slower than usual. Leamington would once again take the lead 14:03 into the period. Graeme Macauley would tie things up, before the Flyers snapped back with 12 seconds to go. It was 3-2 Leamington after 40-minutes of action.
The third period was a nail biter. Leamington would score to make it 4-2, but Aidan Puley netted his fourth of the season (assisted by captain Connor Driscoll) with less than two minutes to go. A minute later, the Flyers would pot the dagger, going up two goals late in the third. Jayden Levesque scored his third of the season with two seconds to go, but that was it for the game. The Flyers beat the Menace 5-4.
Glen Crandall was in net for Milton, allowing all five goals on 23 shots. He finished with a .780% save percentage.
The Menace won’t get any rest, as they take on the Lindsay Muskies on Wednesday, September 27th at the Lecom Harborcenter in Buffalo, New York as part of the 2023 OJHL Governors Showcase. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
