The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says a carjacking took place in Oakville early Tuesday morning.
At roughly 1:00 a.m., the victim was driving her vehicle and had stopped at the intersection of Dundas Street West and Trafalgar Road in Oakville. A suspect vehicle pulled in behind and made contact with the victim’s vehicle. A male driver exited the suspect vehicle and distracted the victim during the exchange of information. At that time two additional suspects wearing balaclavas got into the victim’s car. When confronted by the victim they brandished a handgun with a threat of violence and stole the victim’s car, which is identified as a 2021 Mercedes.
The victim’s dog was inside her vehicle at the time of the carjacking and has not been recovered. It is possible the dog was dropped off in the area of Oakmead Boulevard and Wembley Road in Oakville after the incident. The dog is described as a brown, tea-cup Poodle wearing a blue halter and responds to the name “Louie”. Area residents are asked to keep an eye out for Louie and contact Police if he is seen.
The stolen Mercedes was found abandoned and recovered in Toronto at roughly 2:00 a.m.
The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as follows:
- Male, brown skin
- Late teens/early 20’s
- Approximately 5’10” tall
- Clean shaven
- Wearing a two-tone grey sweat suit
There are no descriptors for the other suspects or suspect vehicle.
No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
