The Ontario Court of Justice has ruled that Edward Oliveira of Milton is guilty to three offences, which include Assault, Sexual Assault, and Utter Threat: to Cause Bodily Harm.
The 52-year-old was sentenced on Tuesday, June 27th and will be placed under house arrest for two years less one day, with a probation order lasting three years. He’ll be able to leave his home every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to purchase groceries and other necessities. He’ll also be able to leave his home for medical emergencies involving himself and immediate family, as well as going directly to and from any religious observance, medical or dental appointments, and employment. His employment schedule will be confirmed in advance by a supervisor.
Oliveira will also not have any contact or communication with the victims, as well as remain at least 100 metres away from where the victims work, go to school or are known to frequent. He’s also not allowed any weapons, and will attend a counselling program for alcohol abuse.
The court documents say he is also not allowed to hire anyone under the age of 18 at any establishment that he is the owner. Oliveira is known in the community as the owner of EddieO’s PourHouse & Kitchen.
Following 12-months, he will be required to remain at home at all times daily between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. That will continue until the end of the sentencing.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a Milton man in relation to a sexual assault investigation.
The offences reportedly occurred between November 2021 and June 2022.
51-year-old Edward Oliveira of Milton was arrested on Wednesday, June 29th and held for a bail hearing. He has been charged with:
- Sexual Assault (three counts)
- Assault
- Utter Threats
- Commodification of Sexual Activity (two counts)
- Forcible Confinement
- Sexual Exploitation (two counts)
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone who believes they have been a victim of sexual assault to contact the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.
To protect the identity of the victims no further details will be provided in relation to this investigation.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated. A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.
There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault. This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
