The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says two people were arrested following a drug investigation.
On Wednesday, May 17th, officers with the 1 District Street Crime Unit attended a residence in Mississauga to execute a search warrant. As a result of the search, the following items were seized:
- A loaded prohibited 9mm Glock handgun
- Approximately 12 grams of cocaine
- 1.1 grams of fentanyl
- Approximately $10,000 CAD
On May 17th, police also arrested two male youths related to this investigation.
A 17-year-old male of Mississauga has been charged with the following:
- Breach of conditional sentence order
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, ammunition
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm/ ammunition
- Possession of firearm, ammunition contrary to prohibition order
A 16-year-old male of Mississauga has also been charged with the following:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, ammunition
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm/ ammunition
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
At the time of his arrest, the 17-year-old was on a Release Order with conditions not to possess any firearms.
