A report by Point2Homes has Milton ranked as one of the happiest places in Canada.
The report done by the online real estate marketplace ranks the 100 largest municipalities in the country, using various categories to fully measure the happiness ratings of each location.
“From median after-tax income, poverty rate, perceived health, and a sense of belonging to the simplest practical factors like commute time, rainfall and air quality, we split the metrics across four happiness-relevant dimensions,” says Point2Homes in the report. “[Those are] Economy & Real Estate; Location & Demographics; Health & Wellbeing; and Community & Environment.”
Caledon was ranked first among the list of 100, but coming in second place was Milton! We weren’t the only Halton municipality to make the top five either, as Halton Hills came in third, and Burlington was ranked fifth. The fourth and final Halton municipality, Oakville, placed seventh.
Southern Ontario didn’t take all the positive headlines though, as London was the last placed municipality on the list. It’s Happiness Index rating was nearly half of what Milton scored.
