If you don’t have a fishing license but want to try your hand as an angler, this weekend is for you.
Ontario is hosting its first of four Family Fishing Events from Saturday, February 18th – Monday, February 20th. The Provincial Government has designated four periods throughout the year for free fishing, which means anyone can take advantage of Ontario Lakes and rivers.
Normally Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario. However, during Family Fishing Events, participants can just carry a government issued photo ID that states your name and date of birth.
