The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested two people in a drug bust.
The investigation was roughly one month long, and throughout the investigation, officers were observing the suspect conducting drug transactions in Burlington.
On Tuesday, February 14th, at roughly 6:30 p.m., investigators conducted a traffic stop on the suspect and a female passenger in the area of Brant Street and Prospect Street in Burlington. A subsequent search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of Queensway Drive and Guelph Line. As a result of a search of the suspects, vehicle and residence, the following items were seized:
- 124.3 grams of fentanyl
- 24.2 grams of methamphetamine
- 9.1 grams of cocaine
- 182 hydromorphone pills
- 52 clonazepam pills
- four oxycodone pills
- $5,700.00 cash
- 11 illegal knives
- three airsoft imitation firearms
- one canister of pepper spray
- one anti signal detector used to locate installed tracking devices
- three digital scales
- three cellular telephones
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is over $28,000.
52-year-old Patrick McNerney of Burlington was arrested and charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl (two counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone (two counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Clonazepam
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine (two counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (two counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
28-year-old Samantha Morwood of Burlington was arrested and charged with
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone (two counts)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Clonazepam
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (two counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
