The Milton Menace came in clutch late in the third period on Wednesday night, and it helped them get the win.
It was the Battle of North Halton at the Mold Master Arena in Georgetown on December 14th. The Menace took on the Raiders as Milton hoped to get back a win over the cross-region rivals. The game was relatively slow to start, with the first goal not coming until the 17:22 mark in the first period. Milton’s Bradley Banach scored a short-handed goal with an assist from Ivan Fabjan. The Raiders would then score on the powerplay less than a minute later to tie the game at one after one period of play.
The second period wasn’t great for the Menace, as the Raiders took the lead before the end of the frame. It would be 2-1 Georgetown heading into the third period.
Could the Menace get the comeback in the third period? Yes, they could, it just took a while. Justin O’Donnell scored at the 15:42 mark. His game-tying goal was assisted by Jared Coccimiglio and Connor Driscoll. Then, 18:21 into the final period of the game, Joseph Meleca would score Milton’s second short-handed goal of the night. The unassisted goal would prove to be the game winner. The Milton Menace beat the Georgetown Raiders 3-2.
Forbes Anderson was in net for Milton. He made 27 saves on 29 shots, good for a .931% save percentage.
