UPDATE ON HOLIDAYFEST CANCELLATION
The Milton Winterhawks are holding their annual ball hockey tournament during the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (DMBIA) HolidayFest.
This will be the third time the team has held this ball hockey tournament, with the COVID-19 pandemic impacting one of the years. The tournament raises funds for the Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation (YSHF).
Romina Maurino is one of the parents for the U11 team who helped organized the event. She says they wanted the kids to focus on something that helps the community.
She adds that as the years have gone on, the boys understand more and more why they hold this ball hockey tournament.
The DMBIA HolidayFest will run from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd all along Milton’s Main Street. The ball hockey tournament will start a little earlier, with registration at 8:15 a.m. You can catch the action in the parking lot at the corner of Main Street East and Brown Street, beside Grill Daddy.
Also in attendance will be the Milton Menace, Milton MP Adam van Koeverden, Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, as well as other local dignitaries.
If you’d like to enter as a team or as a player, registration is still open. Click here for more.
If you can’t make it out to the event, you can also donate to the TSHF through the event website. Learn more here.
