Miracle on Main Street has officially launched!
The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TSJF) held the launch for its Milton-based event at the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) headquarters in Oakville on Monday, November 20th. The annual event collects toys from residents and donates them to families in need during the Christmas season.
Foundation President Tiger Jeet Singh Jr. says he’s excited for the event to return in-person for the first since the start of the pandemic.
The launch saw speeches from a number of sponsors and partners, including Canadian Tire, Salvation Army, Wallace Chevrolet, Magna, and JR Toy Company in Burlington.
Last year, the TJSF and the HRPS joined forces once again to raise a record setting $850,418 in combined donations and sponsorships in support of youth, women and families in need living in Halton Region.
Miracle on Main Street held its Brampton event earlier this month, to which Tiger says they saw a record turnout for people and diversity. He attributes the growth in the Peel Region to the hard work by Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown and Peel Regional Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah.
The event has traditionally been held in the morning along Milton’s Main Street, just as schools were opening. This year, Miracle on Main has been shifted to an evening event. Tiger is looking forward to Milton experiencing the event at night.
Admission is free with a donation of a new unwrapped toy! There will be free amusement rides, free petting zoo and free pony rides, stage performances, food, drinks and much more. In attendance will be wrestling’s living legend Tiger Jeet Singh, former WWE Superstar Tiger Ali Singh, Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, HRPS Chief Stephen Tanner, along with other local dignitaries and members of Milton Council.
Miracle on Main Street 2022 is being held on Friday, December 9th at Troy’s Diner at 295 Main Street East in Milton. It will start at 6:00 p.m. and run until 10:00 p.m.
