Schools across Ontario are open today after a weekend of talks between the government and education workers averted a strike.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees announced yesterday evening that it had a tentative deal with the government for its 55-thousand education worker members.
CUPE says the deal that members will vote on is the same offer the government presented to the union last week.
The union had tried over the weekend to secure staffing level guarantees.
