The Milton Menace continue to cool down after their hot start to the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) season.
On Friday, November 18th, they were host to the Collingwood Blues, one of the best teams in all of Ontario. The last time the two teams faced each other, it was at the OJHL Governors showcase in Cobourg on Monday, September 19th. The Menace lost 4-3 in overtime that afternoon. Read that game’s recap here.
The game on Friday started off with the newcomer Jared Coccimiglio finding the back of the net on the powerplay. His first goal as a Menace would be assisted by Captain Owen Forester and star-player Aidan Hughes. It would be 1-0 for Milton after one period of play.
The second period was all Collingwood, though. The Blues would get back-to-back goals to make it 2-1 after 40-minutes of action.
Coccimiglio would get his second of the game, assisted by Owen Kindree and Lucas Buzziol. That tied the game, but the Blues would get the lead back halfway through the third period. Collingwood would beat Milton 3-2.
In net, Will Goumas would stop 21 of 24 shots in his first start as the team’s de facto starter. That would be good for .875% save percentage.
The Menace are now 16-5-1-2 through 24 games this OJHL season. That puts them in third place in the North/West Conference. Their next game is on Tuesday, November 22nd when they head south to play the Oakville Blades at the Sixteen Mile Sports Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The next game in Milton is on Friday, November 25th. The Menace will take on the Aurora Tigers. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
