The Milton Menace continue to run roughshod throughout the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).
They entered the week as one of the hottest teams in the league. They went to Pickering to take on the Panthers on Friday night at the Pickering Recreation Complex.
The game started with a Menace goal by Connor Driscoll at the 5:52 mark in the first period. That was assisted by Cory Liu and Luca Rea. Ryan O’Toole then added to the lead to make 2-0 Menace after 20-minutes. His goal was assisted by Marco Iozzo and Owen Kindree.
Aidan Hughes then added a powerplay goal in the second period, with help from Lucas Buzziol. Iozzo then added a goal of his own, assisted by Tristan Tremble and O’Toole. It was 4-0 after two periods of play.
The Panthers added a goal of their own, but the Menace wound up winning 4-1. Christian Trianni was credited with the win on the box score. He had 32 saves on 33 shots, good for a .969% save percentage.
On Saturday, the Menace then went to Aurora to face the Tigers.
Aurora went out to an early lead to be up 1-0 after the first period.
Lucas Buzziol then tied the game 14:32 into the second period. The powerplay goal had assists from Aidan Hughes and Bradley Banach. Less than a minute later, the Tigers took back the lead. Just before the period closed, Connor Driscoll tied the game at two with help from Owen Kindree and Justin O’Donnell. It was 2-2 after two.
Hughes then helped Menace take the lead, with an assist from captain Owen Forester. The Tigers tied the game 26 seconds later. It was 3-3 after three periods.
In overtime, Thomas Gordon would score the game winner for Milton at the 4:55 mark. It was assisted by Buzziol and Hughes. The Menace won 4-3 in OT.
Will Goumas was awarded the win on the box score. He had 20 saves on 23 shots. That’s good for an. 869% save percentage.
The Milton Menace are now 12-0-0-1 through 13-games, good for 25 points and first place in the OJHL North/West Conference. Their one loss came to the Collingwood Blues in Cobourg at the OJHL Governors Showcase. Here’s how the Menace skaters are doing after 13 games of play:

The team will head to Markham this Friday to take on the Royals. Markham is 5-5-0-4 through 14 games of play. That has them in sixth in the North/West Conference. Here’s how their skaters are shaping up after 14 games:

Puck drop at the Markham Centennial Centre on Friday, October 21st will be at 7:30 p.m.
