
The Halton Police is investigating a robbery that took place at Mapleview Shopping Centre in Burlington.
On Wednesday (Oct. 12th), at approximately 4:20 p.m. an older adult female victim was followed out of the mall by a male suspect after purchasing a laptop computer at the Apple Store.
The victim was knocked to the ground by the suspect once she exited the mall and her computer was stolen. The robbery took place in the southeast parking lot area and the victim used the exit facing Maple Avenue.
The victim suffered injuries that required her to be taken to hospital. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.
HRPS describes the suspect as a 50-year-old white male, with a thin build. He was wearing dark clothing with a cap and sunglasses.
He is believed to have fled the scene in a dark-coloured sedan at a high rate of speed.
Police would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or who have dashcam footage of the area surrounding Mapleview Mall from October 12th at approximately 4:20 p.m.
