UPDATE
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested two suspects in relation to a series of gym locker thefts.
The thefts began in June 2022. The suspects would break into the lockers, steal the contents within, attend the parking lot where they would steal motor vehicles and attend nearby stores to fraudulently use the stolen credit cards. The suspects have also been identified as being responsible for additional offences across the region and neighboring jurisdictions.
On Tuesday, August 16th, the suspects were located and arrested by HRPS officers at a hotel in Cambridge. During the arrest the suspects were jointly in possession of a stolen Kia motor vehicle. Each suspect also possessed a quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
23-year-old Taylor Gillard of No Fixed Address has been charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle (6 counts)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (3 counts)
- Theft Under $5000 (6 counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (3 counts)
- Fraudulent Use of Credit Card (3 counts)
- Possession of Break and Enter Tools (2 counts)
- Possession of Automobile Master Key
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
- Fail to Comply being on Release Order (2 counts)
36-year-old Michael Salverda of No Fixed Address has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (3 counts)
- Theft Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (3 counts)
- Fraudulent Use of Credit Card
- Possession of Break and Enter Tools (2 counts)
- Possession of Automobile Master Key
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
Both accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is looking for a woman who reportedly stole from open lockers at two separate LA Fitness locations in Burlington.
This happened on Sunday, June 5th. At each location, the suspect entered the female change room and grabbed car keys and a wallet from open lockers. The suspect then the left change rooms and stole a vehicle from each parking lot. The suspect then used the stolen credit cards at locations around Burlington.
The HRPS describes the suspect as:
- Female, mid 20’s with a heavy build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, plaid shirt and dark sandals.
