
Milton Menace fans cheer the team on during 2019-2020 season
The Milton Menace have made a trade for a player they will hope will be a gamechanger this season.
The Menace have sent defenceman Alessandro Petreccia and centre John Mitchell to the North York Rangers in exchange for forward Luca Rea.
With the Rangers, Rea scored 18 goals with 25 assists for 43 points across 52 games in 2021-2022 OJHL season.
Petreccia potted six goals with 18 assists in 48 games for Milton. Mitchell had three goals and two assists in 38 games.
It’s been a busy offseason for the Menace after making the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. They’re hoping to keep the momentum going for another season. Additions this offseason include:
- Milton-native F Jake Mallory (50gp, 20g, 17a, 37p with the Mississauga Reps U18 AAA team)
- Milton-native D Travis Houle (19gp, 2g, 4a, 6p with the Burlington Eagles U18 AAA team)
- F Dylan McFadden (25gp, 14g, 11a, 25p with the Burlington Eagles U16 AAA team)
- Milton-native F Tristan Tremble (21gp, 5g, 8a, 13p with the Guelph Jr. Gryphons U18 AAA team)
- G Christian Trianni (26gp, 15-7-1, 2.34 GAA, .915% with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the OJHL)
- D Owen Kindree (46gp, 6g, 19a, 25p with the Strathroy Rockets in the GOJHL)
- F Aidan Puley (52gp, 3g, 5a, 8p with the Navan Grads in the CCHL)
- F Marco Iozzo (54gp, 15g, 29a, 44p between the Brockville Braves and the Carleton Place Canadians in the CCHL)
- D Cory Liu (52gp, 2g, 15a, 17p with the Smiths Falls Bears of the CCHL)
The Menace also hired Daniel D’Ercole as an assistant coach for the upcoming season. The OJHL alumni and York University grad is coming from the Vaughan Kings AAA Hockey Club where he served as a bench coach.
The Milton Menace will launch the entire OJHL season with a game in Caledon against the Admirals. That will be on Thursday, September 8th at 8:00 p.m.. The Menace home opener will be the next day, Friday, September 9th, at 7:30 p.m.. The Menace will take on the Mississauga Chargers.
