Get ready to see some more construction around Milton, only this time it involves some storm water management ponds.
The Town of Milton is doing some work to improve a number of issues with several storm water management ponds in the area. The Town says this work is “essential in maintaining pond function, ensuring adequate quantity and quality control, and to provide environmental protection to our downstream receivers.”
Work is expected to take place from Thursday, July 28th until the end of September at the following locations:
- Pond #8 – 140 Livingston Road
- Pond #11 – 1475 Main Street
- Pond #20 – 405 Yates Drive
- Pond #30 – 2998 Peddie Road
- Pond #34 – 1060 Tock Close
Enhancements include:
- Concrete repairs (pond structures including inlet, outlets and ditch inlet catch basin)
- Site grading repairs (pond banks and trails)
- Clearing and grubbing (remove excess vegetation)
Residents shouldn’t expect full road closures, but the Town says lane closures may be required. This would be to allow contractors to access ponds, move machinery and material in and out of the site. Pathways and trails in and around ponds may be closed to pedestrian traffic as required to facilitate work, and will be determined in the field, on a site-by-site basis.
