The County of Simcoe broke ground on the Simcoe Village Campus redevelopment Wednesday afternoon (may4).
Warden George Cornell was on site in Beeton as an upgrade on one the oldest long term care homes in the County of Simcoe got underway.
The redevelopment is expected to provide 34 additional long term care beds, making for a total of 160 beds and provide over 180 housing units for seniors.
The campus is expected to cover close to 500,000 square feet and include amenities such as medical services, a restaurant, retail outlets, a fitness area and reception.
The cost of the project is estimated at $177-million.
The Simcoe Village Campus is anticipated to open by 2024 -2025.
