
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show an additional death in the totals. It appears to have been a Burlington resident, giving the city 123 deaths total. Milton remains at 64 deaths total. Halton Hills is at 66. Oakville is at 97. Halton is now at 350 deaths total from COVID-19.
The Region had a delay in stats on Tuesday, April 19th. That means all stats in this update are a two-day total.
Across Halton, there are 114 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 47,247. There have been 1,203 total hospitalizations in Halton and 350 deaths.
In Milton, we had 25 new cases. That brings us to 12,797 total cases. There have been 289 total hospitalizations in Milton and 64 deaths.
There are two outbreaks in Milton:
- Congregate living facility known as ‘Congregate Living – 132’
- Milton District Hospital – 2 North Regional Unit
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,297,288 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,153,284 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 64,930 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 103,309 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 106,471 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 68,587 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
