Milton Memorial Arena, 2019
The Milton Menace are moving on to the next round!
They entered the Mold Masters Arena in Georgetown on Tuesday night with a 1-0 series lead and plans to make it a sweep for the first round matchup. They did just that, and in convincing fashion no less.
The game started with a goal from Milton’s Nicholas Wereha (assisted by Tyler Turpin and Blake Riddall) at the 3:39 mark. The Raiders tied it up a minute later, but within 18 seconds of the tying goal, Ryan O’Donnell (Alessandro Petreccia) made it a 2-1 game for the Menace. Ethan Sims (Lucas Buzziol and Turpin) then scored a powerplay goal to make it 3-1 after 20 minutes.
The second period was the Sims Show, as he added two more, including a short handed goal, to give him a hattrick. O’Donnell scored his second of the game to make 6-1 Milton after two periods of play.
Tyler Amaral put the final nail in the coffin in the third to make it a 7-1 win for Milton.
The 2-0 series sweep gives the Menace a few days off before they take on their next opponent. The second round is slated to begin on Saturday, April 16th.
