A big day in Alliston.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Doug Ford will be in town as Honda Canada is set to announce it will spend $1.38-billion to upgrade manufacturing.
A Honda Canada spokesperson confirms the 2023 CR-V and CR-V Hybrid will be built in Alliston.
Honda has been selling the hybrid in the US since 2017 and the Alliston facility has been made the gas version for the last decade.
The federal and provincial governments are expected to contribute $131.6 million each to the upgrade.
The formal announcement comes this morning (mar 16).
Honda will begin production of the CR-V Hybrid this summer.
