The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, February 28th and Monday, March 7th, there were at least 19 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- An assault case on Main Street East on Monday, February 28th;
- an assault case on Laurier Avenue on Monday, February 28th;
- a theft from vehicle case on 5 Sideroad on Monday, February 28th;
- a theft case on Thompson Road on Tuesday, March 1st;
- an assault case on Boston Church Road on Tuesday, March 1st;
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Tuesday, March 1st;
- a breaking and entering case in the area of Caverhill Crescent and Harwood Drive on Tuesday, March 1st;
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Tuesday, March 1st;
- an assault case on Main Street East on Wednesday, March 2nd;
- a theft case on Maple Avenue on Wednesday, March 2nd;
- a theft from vehicle case on Holgate Crescent on Wednesday, March 2nd;
- an assault case on Ferguson Drive on Wednesday, March 2nd;
- a breaking and entering crescent on Gooch Crescent on Wednesday, March 2nd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Wednesday, March 2nd;
- a breaking and entering case on Holgate Crescent on Thursday, March 3rd;
- a theft from vehicle case on Nipissing Road on Thursday, March 3rd;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue East on Friday, March 4th;
- a property crime on Hampshire Way on Saturday, March 5th; and,
- a theft case on Kennedy Circle on Saturday, March 5th.
Of the 19 cases of crime, 10 were theft cases of some kind, five were assault cases, three were breaking and entering cases, and one was a property crime case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
