A new school in Innisfil is expanding before it’s even built.
The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board initially got funding from Ministry of Education in March 2020 for a new elementary school to be built in the Lefroy area that would accoMmodate 401 students.
This week they got an $2.2 million more to add 4 more classrooms that would hold 92 more kids.
The price tag for the new school now sits at just over $13.4 million.
The school is expected to be open in September 2023.
While they had th cheque book out, the province set aside $7.2 million to expand Killarney Beach Public School in Churchill.
That money will go towards 184 new spaces.
