The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there have been 655 new cases since Friday. The total number of cases is up to 22,312. With 20,915 resolved cases and 245 deaths, Halton is at 1152 active cases, 397 more than Thursday. The Region says that of the 23,312 total cases, 21,576 were confirmed positive while 736 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 116 new cases. That brings us to 6952 total cases. With 6676 resolved cases and 47 deaths, Milton is at 229 active cases, 54 more than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 6952 total cases, 6695 were confirmed positive while 257 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is reporting variant case totals. It says that 8672 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2776 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 89 cases being reported – 30 are non-Halton cases, 57 are residents, and two are staff cases. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th.
Another outbreak has been declared at a Milton school. It is at Tarbiyah Elementary School on Ontario Street South. There are currently just two cases, the minimum required for an outbreak to be reported. Both are considered Halton cases. It was declared on Friday, December 10th.
The Halton Region has reported an outbreak at a second Milton school. This one is at Elementary School Catholic Saint-Nicolas on Woodward Avenue. There are currently four cases being reported – three Halton cases and one non-Halton case. It was declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
A fitness facility in Milton has reported an outbreak. It is listed as ‘Sports & Fitness – 10’ by the Halton Region. There are currently seven cases being reported, all of which are Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 998,943 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 893,880 of the doses were to Halton residents.
462,925 second doses have been administered in Halton. 412,120 of those have been Halton residents.
69,578 additional doses have been administered in Halton. 61,356 of those have been Halton residents.

- 109 first doses, four second doses and zero additional doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 85,869 first doses, 110,864 second doses and 33,300 additional doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,897 first doses, 10,141 second doses and 6162 additional doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 366,674 first doses, 341,920 second doses and 30,116 additional doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
