This week (Monday, November 1st – Sunday, November 7th) is a great time to learn more about local Indigenous history.
The Town of Milton is honouring Treaties Recognition Week. The Town says the week “honours the importance of treaties and aims to be a week of education for individuals to learn more about treaty rights and relationships.”
This year, the Town of Milton in partnership with the Milton Historical Society is hosting a virtual information session to allow for further education, awareness, and relationship building.
This virtual event will be presented by Darin Wybenga, Traditional Knowledge and Land Use Coordinator, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. There will also be an opportunity for viewers to ask questions at the end of the information session.
It’s on Thursday, November 4th at 3:00 p.m. The Zoom link can be found here.
Tune in to learn more about local Indigenous history, land acknowledgement and treaties.
