As we head into the weekend, Milton remains relatively okay with the latest COVID-19 stats.
Across Halton, there are 14 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,882. With 19,563 resolved cases and 243 deaths, Halton is at 76 active cases, six more than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,882 total cases, 19,187 were confirmed positive while 695 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have two new cases. That brings us to 6340 total cases. With 6284 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at ten active cases, one case more than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 6340 total cases, 6098 were confirmed positive while 242 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6633 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2251 total variant cases.
There’s an outbreak being reported at a Milton workplace. It’s listed on the Halton Region webpage as ‘Workplace – 162’. There are eight total cases being reported – one is a Halton case, seven are considered non-Halton cases. It was first declared on Thursday, October 14th.
An outbreak has been reported at a Milton school. It’s at Holy Rosary (Milton) Catholic Elementary School. It was first reported by the Halton Region on Wednesday, October 27th. There are two cases being reported (the minimum for an outbreak). Both are considered Halton cases, meaning they are Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 890,554 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 798,447 of the doses were to Halton residents.
452,926 second doses have been administered in Halton. 404,426 of those have been Halton residents.

- 1,995 first doses and 1303 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 79,013 first doses and 104,718 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,891 first doses and 10,097 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 344,724 first doses and 338,111 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 464,991 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.13% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 97,282 fully immunized residents – 0.14% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
