Active cases are dropping once again, fingers crossed they continue to do so after Thanksgiving.
Across Halton, there are 18 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,608. With 19,263 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 103 active cases, eight less cases than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,608 total cases, 18,927 were confirmed positive while 681 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have five new cases. That keeps us at 6267 total cases. With 6199 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 22 active cases, four less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6267 total cases, 6028 were confirmed positive while 239 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6565 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2231 total variant cases.
A Milton school is dealing with an outbreak. Irma Coulson Public School has seven reported cases, each are Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 876,320 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 787,128 of the doses were to Halton residents.
443,422 second doses have been administered in Halton. 396,789 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 38,304 first doses and 44,793 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 38,549 first doses and 41,509 second doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;

- 36,768 first doses and 37,567 second doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 35,285 first doses and 34,998 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 28,781 first doses and 28,465 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 25,300 first doses and 24,340 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,853 first doses and 22,249 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,262 first doses and 17,027 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,683 first doses and 24,389 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,908 first doses and 1085 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 75,770 first doses and 98,590 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,823 first doses and 9995 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 343,305 first doses and 334,837 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 455,274 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 94,784 fully immunized residents – 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
