With the popularity of their fairly new bee logo, the Milton Public Library (MPL) is celebrating its look with Bee Inspired Week.
Until Sunday, October 10th, the MPL will be launching a flurry of new items and programs that all revolve around the bee in their logo.
That includes a new partnership with Humble Bee, a full-service apiary with a focus on sustainable urban honey production and education. Beehives were first installed at the Beaty Branch in August 2020. With the help from Humble Bee, the MPL will be offering the sale of honey for the first time on Tuesday! A limited batch of 130 ml pots of honey will be available while quantities last.
Also announced for this week is another partnership, this time with Milton’s Third Moon Brewing. MPL has collaborated with Third Moon to create ‘The Stinger,’ which was brewed with a pot of Beaty branch honey. The beer is now available for sale through Third Moon Brewing’s website. Third Moon was ranked as one of the best new breweries in the world earlier this year.
And last, but definitely not least, is offering a selection of bee-themed programming all week long. Highlights include a behind-the-scenes look at the honey harvesting, an interview with the beekeeper, bee themed storytimes, and StoryWalk® at Mountsberg Conservation Area in partnership with Conservation Halton.
