Heading into the weekend, active cases continue to drop.
Across Halton, there are 19 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,507. With 19,149 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 116 active cases, 13 less cases than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,507 total cases, 18,833 were confirmed positive while 674 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have one new case. That keeps us at 6239 total cases. With 6166 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 27 active cases, four less cases than Thursday’s updates. The Region says that of the 6239 total cases, 6003 were confirmed positive while 236 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6544 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2225 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are now 18 reported cases. Two are considered Halton cases. 16 are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
A second outbreak has been declared in Milton, this time a school. Hawthorne Village Public School has two cases, both Halton cases. The outbreak was declared on Thursday, September 16th.
Another Milton school is now dealing with an outbreak. Irma Coulson Public School has six reported cases, each are Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th.
A third Milton school outbreak has just been declared. This outbreak is at Escarpment View Public School. There are four cases being reported, both are Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, September 28th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 871,739 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 783,541 of the doses were to Halton residents.
440,332 second doses have been administered in Halton. 394,330 of those have been Halton residents.

- 22,832 first doses and 22,231 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,240 first doses and 17,013 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,669 first doses and 24,367 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,887 first doses and 960 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 74,661 first doses and 96,409 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,826 first doses and 9995 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 342,920 first doses and 333,928 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 452,073 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.10% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 94,019 fully immunized residents – 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
