The latest COVID-19 numbers from the Halton Region are now available.
Across Halton, there 23 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,130. With 18,714 resolved cases and 240 deaths, Halton is now at 176 active cases, one less case than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,130 total cases, 18,482 were confirmed positive while 648 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have six new cases. That brings us to 6146 total cases. With 6057 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 43 active cases, three more cases than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6146 total cases, 5917 were confirmed positive while 229 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6452 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2202 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are six reported cases. One is considered a Halton case. Five are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 855,409 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 770,217 of the doses were to Halton residents.
429,962 second doses have been administered in Halton. 385,749 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 37,031 first doses and 42,473 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 37,599 first doses and 39,550 second doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 24,473 first doses and 24,424 second doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 28,841 first doses and 28,449 second doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 33,284 first doses and 33,379 second doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 35,722 first doses and 36,456 second doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 37,204 first doses and 38,112 second doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 36,280 first doses and 36,736 second doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 34,942 first doses and 34,424 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 28,554 first doses and 28,115 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 25,166 first doses and 24,127 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,775 first doses and 22,130 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,189 first doses and 16,956 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,627 first doses and 24,298 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,760 first doses and 333 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 71,065 first doses and 90,253 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,753 first doses and 9875 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 340,629 first doses and 329,834 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 441,945 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.08% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 91,494 fully immunized residents – 0.08% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
