Active cases across Halton took a dip for Wednesday, August 25th.
Around the region, there are 12 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 18,623. With 18,248 resolved cases and 237 deaths, Halton is now at 138 active cases, ten less than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,623 total cases, 17,999 were confirmed positive while 624 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have three new cases. That brings us to 6034 total cases. With 5945 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 43 active cases, one more than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6034 total cases, 5813 were confirmed positive while 221 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6214 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2139 total variant cases.
There is an outbreak in Milton that was first declared on August 10th. This one is labelled as ‘Health & Wellness – 2’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered Halton cases. It could close by tomorrow pending any new cases.
A second outbreak in Milton was declared on Monday, August 23rd. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 154’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered ‘non-Halton’ cases, meaning they are not Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 831,887 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 750,342 of the doses were to Halton residents.

The Halton Region says that out of the 427,665 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.05% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 87,561 fully immunized residents. 0.05% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
