There are some new numbers being shared by the Halton Region.
Across Halton, there are 30 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 18,611. With 18,226 resolved cases and 237 deaths, Halton is now at 148 active cases, 13 more than Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,611 total cases, 17,986 were confirmed positive while 625 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have nine new cases. That brings us to 6031 total cases. With 5943 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 42 active cases, five more than Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 6031 total cases, 5810 were confirmed positive while 221 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6194 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2126 total variant cases.
There is one outbreak in Milton. It was first declared on August 10th. This one is labelled as ‘Health & Wellness – 2’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered Halton cases. It could close by tomorrow pending any new cases.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 830,252 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 748,883 of the doses were to Halton residents.
414,450 second doses have been administered in Halton. 372,306 of those have been Halton residents.

- 22,679 first doses and 21,941 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,133 first doses and 16,834 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,559 first doses and 24,143 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 975 first doses and 12 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 65,329 first doses and 83,863 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,888 first doses and 10,257 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 336,585 first doses and 320,330 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
What’s new today is the Halton Region is sharing the percentage of vaccinated residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. The Halton Region says that out of the 426,504 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.05% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 87,256 fully immunized residents. 0.05% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
