The People Party of Canada now has a new federal candidate for the Milton riding.
According to the PPC’s official candidate listing, Shibli Haddad has been named as the party’s newest candidate for our community. He’ll be replacing Percy Dastur.
On Haddad’s official candidate website, he refers to himself as an “avid hunter, hiker, camper, explorer, canoeist/kayaker, and a lover of all things Canadian. Especially maple syrup, he puts that stuff on everything.”
The page then lists why he is running, saying that “Milton is where I live. The more I speak with my neighbours and people in town, the more I realize that most of us share similar political ideas and views on Canada, the government, and the status-quo; except that we’ve been falsely promised that either the red team or the blue team would deliver on those promises. In reality, it seems like these days neither one of those teams actually cares about Canadians.”

This makes Haddad the third official candidate that has been announced for Milton in the upcoming federal election, alongside incumbent MP Adam van Koeverden (Liberal Party) and Nadeem Akbar (Conservative Party). We’re still waiting on an official candidate for the NDP and the Green Party. We touched on past candidates in our recent ‘What We Know’ article.
We’re working on a way to speak with Haddad directly.
