The Halton Region has updated its COVID-19 stats for Thursday, August 19th.
Across Halton, there are 23 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 18,492. With 18,131 resolved cases and 237 deaths, Halton is now at 124 active cases, seven more than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,492 total cases, 17,879 were confirmed positive while 613 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have six new cases. That brings us to 5998 total cases. With 5920 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 32 active cases, the same as Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 5998 total cases, 5779 were confirmed positive while 219 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. However, the variant numbers on the Halton Region COVID-19 dashboard have been suspended due to an ongoing update of the provincial CCM system.
An outbreak at a day camp has been declared in Milton (labelled as ‘Day Camp – 1’). It was first declared on Monday, August 9th. There are 12 reported cases. All 12 are considered Halton cases, which means the residents are from Halton.
Another outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on August 10th. This one is labelled as ‘Health & Wellness – 2’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered Halton cases.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 823,094 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 742,492 of the doses were to Halton residents.
409,597 second doses have been administered in Halton. 367,955 of those have been Halton residents.
