We’re back in the double-digits for new cases around the region.
Across Halton, there are 13 new cases today. The total number of cases is up to 18,182. With 17,896 resolved cases and 237 deaths, Halton is now at 49 active cases, three more than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,182 total cases, 17,579 were confirmed positive while 603 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have eight new cases. That brings us to 5897 total cases. With 5831 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 20 active cases, seven more than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 5897 total cases, 5683 were confirmed positive while 214 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6055 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2080 total variant cases.
The Halton Region says an outbreak has been declared at an unnamed child care facility (labelled as ‘Child Care – 48’). There are four reported cases. All four are considered Halton cases.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 761,337 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 686,027 of the doses were to Halton residents.
356,437 second doses have been administered in Halton. 318,618 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:

- 34,043 first doses and 29,424 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 27,982 first doses and 24,681 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 24,823 first doses and 21,816 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,551 first doses and 20,721 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,051 first doses and 16,176 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,456 first doses and 23,613 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 29 first doses and nine second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 60,410 first doses and 76,376 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,594 first doses and 9863 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 330,896 first doses and 270,198 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
