The Halton Region has released the latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton.
Across Halton, there are seven new cases today. The total number of cases is up to 18,169. With 17,886 resolved cases and 237 deaths, Halton is now at 46 active cases, two less than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,169 total cases, 17,566 were confirmed positive while 603 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have two new cases. That brings us to 5889 total cases. With 5830 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 13 active cases, the same as Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 5889 total cases, 5675 were confirmed positive while 214 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6046 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2076 total variant cases.
The Halton Region says an outbreak that was reported at a workplace (now classified as ‘Health & Wellness – 1′). It was first declared on Saturday, July 10th. There were four cases being reported. All four were considered ‘Halton’ cases. The outbreak was declared over on Friday, July 23rd.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 755,480 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 680,965 of the doses were to Halton residents.
351,722 second doses have been administered in Halton. 314,244 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 32,276 first doses and 31,437 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 34,913 first doses and 29,331 second doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 22,637 first doses and 17,995 second doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;

- 34,206 first doses and 29,063 second doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 35,731 first doses and 30,848 second doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 35,068 first doses and 30,235 second doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 34,018 first doses and 29,067 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 27,963 first doses and 24,456 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 24,806 first doses and 21,620 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,542 first doses and 20,574 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,041 first doses and 16,060 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,448 first doses and 23,541 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 30 first doses and nine second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 60,237 first doses and 75,710 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,584 first doses and 9821 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 330,297 first doses and 266,191 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
