100 Women Who Care Milton has chosen its local charity for its big donation.
The group heard from three local organizations during a virtual call last week. Those three charities were:
- Community Living North Halton;
- Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga-Dufferin; and,
- HMC Connections.
According to the group’s Facebook page, it was a close vote but the awarded charity is Community Living North Halton (CLNH). Angel Zuzic is the Director of Child and Family Services for CLNH – she spoke for the organization last week. A big focus of her presentation was on the rec and leisure program.
CLNH offers residential services, recreational program, programs for people with autism, job skill training, and much more.
100 Women Who Care Milton meets quarterly to hear from three local organizations. This was the third meeting of the year. The last meeting was in April when the group chose Food4Kids Halton as its donation recipient. Read up on that here.
Typically, 100 Women works on a $100 per member basis. The end-goal of that being $10,000 to each awarded charity. While that hasn’t happened yet with the group not reaching 100 women yet, the group has been working on a ‘donate what you can’ basis. The goal this time around is to donate roughly $5000.
