The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says it received reports of a suspicious package found at the Milton GO Station at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
When officers arrived on scene they found an abandoned package on the GO Station premises. Police cleared members of the public from the immediate area of the package and all access to the GO Station was halted, including train, vehicle, and pedestrian traffic.
The HRPS Tactical Rescue Unit, K9 Unit, and Explosives Disposal Unit assessed the package. At 9:50 p.m.,. the area was deemed clear and secure.
The HRPS issued a ‘thank you’ to GO Transit Security, Milton Fire and Halton Paramedic Services for their support and assistance, and thanked the public for their patience.
