The Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation’s Catch the Ace progressive raffle is now onto week 29!
On Friday, Norval’s Lili Rushton won the weekly draw. Instead of pulling the elusive ace of spades, she pulled the four of spades, winning just the weekly lottery of $517. That brings the jackpot up to a whopping $24,232 at the time of writing.
The events coordinator for the Foundation, Mallory Crippen, says Rushton found out about the weekly raffle through the Milton Strong Facebook group.

Crippen praises the work being done by the Milton Strong team and the community it has grown on its Facebook page. She says that while many see it as a way to support local businesses, many local charities have also received immense support.
Rushton told Crippen that she was looking to treat her family to a nice dinner out now that the province has entered Step 3 of its reopening plan. The goal is to support local, and maybe try again for the big lottery!
The money raised by the TSHF is helping bring a hospice to North Halton. The Foundation feels the community would be better served by having palliative and respite care available in either Milton or Halton Hills.
The hospice might end up going in the recently announced Wilfrid Laurier University-Conestoga College joint campus, to be located off Tremaine Road by the Milton Velodrome. Learn all about that here.
