Catch the Ace is still going!
The Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation says its latest winner didn’t pull the elusive ace of spades. June Nyholt pulled the two of clubs, winning herself $602 last week.
Events Coordinator Mallory Crippen says they’re now halfway through the deck of cards.
She adds that Nyholt is an avid Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation supporter, so it’s very likely that her winnings last week will be going back into the pot to support the cause, while increasing her chances to win the big one.
The jackpot is now at $22,534 at the time of writing. Crippen reminds listeners where the proceeds are going.
The closest hospice to Milton and Halton Hills is arguably in the Guelph area. That’s anywhere from a 30-minute to an hour long drive to and from the location. The Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation feels it’s vital to a hospice closer to home that provides residents the respite and palliative care needed for their loved ones.
The hospice might end up going in the freshly announced Wilfrid Laurier University-Conestoga College joint campus, to be located off Tremaine Road by the Milton Velodrome. Learn all about that here.
